I didn't know that about dark vs. light-colored roses! Shelley Hack was the face of Charlie perfume by Revlon in the 1970s. I wore it and almost all my female friends did, too. Now essential oils are my jam.
The other side of the coin is that, unfortunately, most perfumes and many other products that seem like nice smells, are highly toxic. It’s really important to look at all the chemicals in the products we put on our skin as they get absorbed into our body. Many people have allergies to these smells and places declare scent free environments to support that. Sorry for the dark comment but it’s a reality. I am so sensitive to smells that a strong perfume will give me a bad headache. It’s so important to take others sensitivities into consideration. Thank you. Patricia
Yes, I understand that point of view, ever since a woman in a Yoga class 10 years ago admonished me for my perfume. I don't think all scents are toxic, but I do realize some people are allergic to some. Well, at least you can enjoy all the many wonderful natural smells out there!
I feel better knowing that as a man, I have fewer olfactory cells. For years I was haunted after one of our early date nights out when a waitress complimented the perfume you were wearing and I had no idea you had anything on!

The rose observation is strictly mine, from a visit to the Oakland rose garden. I can only hope it’s universally true!

I forgave you!
