I don’t drive but I do so relate to not worrying about scratches and dents. With me it’s furniture. I could have it sanded or restored in some way but…just like there are scars in my life I prefer to leave my furniture showing signs of battle. Like my face (no facelift for my furniture).

We bought a house and got a boat with it. It's all banged up and I surprisingly just love the fact that if it gets another scratch...OH WELL! Add that one to the scratch list!!

Car, boat: same principle! The fear with which I drove my then-new Insight from the lot! The fearlessness with which I drive it now, 11 years later! As long as we both enjoy the ride!

I fully support you driving the hybrid Mustang, Catherine! Please share a pic with us when you get it :)

Actually, the Mustang is not a hybrid but an electric car, like the Tesla but no Musk! Will definitely show its picture when I have it!

Hi Cathy --- love this newsletter.

I think you should seriously consider the chevy bolt -- like you I don't consider myself a "car lover", but I fell in love with this car and I think you might as well. Its like a cross between your beloved beach car (not flashy, great pickup, you sit high, hatchback, etc) and the insight - - (electric, and green and probably more efficient than the mustang)

They are all over town, and would be happy to have you drive mine and try it sometime!
