thank you, Catherine, for the alternate worlds you provide your faithful readers, little worlds filled with exquisite attention to the details of le piaciere quotidiani.
I read Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow quite a while back; I guess when it first came out? I remember I had to wait to get it, as the waitlist queue at the library for the book was in the hundreds. Finally, it became available, and it turned out the wait was worth it. Great read. I learned about the book from the writer Cory Doctorow, whose book recs I pay attention to.
Word of mouth is still the best way for me to decide what book to read next! Tomorrow and T etc was original in that it was a novel mainly about worklife.
Greetings, Cathy...For me, this was one of your most pertinent pieces. We've been having an ongoing exchange with Aristu about the recent absence of books in his life.
I've printed this piece for him, and for safe keeping.
I mostly read nonfiction, but I just read a novel that swept me away. It was wonderful. I won't tell you what it was. But the pleasure was intense, just as you described.

I would like to read these novels. I enjoyed Ann Padget’s “The Dutch House.”

Why won't you tell us the title? We might ike it, too!
